Running for Esther

Losing a loved one leaves an indelible mark on our lives, shaping the way we navigate the world. Seven years ago, my world was forever changed when I said goodbye to my daughter, Esther, who battled cancer with unimaginable bravery until she was just four years old. As I lace up my running shoes and embark on the journey of training for a The Royal Parks half marathon, I am reminded of her strength, courage, and the beautiful moments we shared.

Esther’s memory is the driving force behind every step I take, propelling me forward through the challenges of training and reminding me that determination can overcome even the toughest of obstacles. In her honor, I have dedicated these months to preparing myself physically and mentally for the upcoming half marathon. The road hasn’t been easy, but every drop of sweat and every mile covered is a testament to the love I carry for her in my heart.

As I train, I find solace in knowing that my efforts are making a difference not only for my own well-being but also for children who are currently fighting the battle Esther faced. I am proud to be raising funds for Alice’s Arc, a children’s cancer charity that is tirelessly working to improve the lives of young cancer patients and their families. Every pound raised is a step toward enhancing the resources available to those in need, offering hope, and advancing research to one day conquer this devastating disease.

Training for this half marathon has been more than just a physical endeavor; it has been a way to honor Esther’s memory and share her story with the world. It’s a reminder that even in the face of heartbreak, we can find strength, purpose, and a way to make a positive impact.

As I cross the finish line on race day, I will carry Esther’s spirit with me, celebrating her life and the legacy she has left behind. This journey is about more than just running; it’s about channeling grief into healing, loss into love, and remembering that our actions have the power to create meaningful change.

I invite you to join me on this journey by supporting Alice’s Arc and helping us make a difference for children battling cancer. Your contribution, whether big or small, is a beacon of hope that shines brightly in the face of adversity.

Tomorrow is the start of September, the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and there’s no better time to donate and show your support.

Thank you for being a part of this journey, for remembering Esther, and for standing with me as we run toward a brighter future for children fighting against cancer.
